A scanner darkly is a project exploring the fusion of natural organic matter and man made digital processes. In an effort to blurr boundaries between nature and technology, and question how we perceive nature through screens I photographed collected flowers and dried petals and then scanned and distorted them using my flatbed scanner. The detail and fragility of the images brings us closer to nature, while the interruption of glitch and distortion races questions around authenticity and reality through obstruction and digital interference.
